huck fin 21-32
the two men of royalty drink and have themselves a night. they are not completly understood by many however. they put on a show with little fan base but then create a poster for the royal nonesuch theartre exibiting that it is for men only. Women and children were not permited. the show is nothing more than the dauphin coming on stage but naked. people roar in laughter but are enraged that they had been ripped off. the audience is off capacity making the two men some good cash. it is to be a joke to tell all people who didnt attend the show that it was wonderful so they would than all but ticktes and attend. people do this playing the joke on their friends, giving the two men yet another capacity crowd. the two men are truly scam artists and go about doing this wherever possible. the dauphin and duke are than come out as fakes or frauds and are shown for what they really are. they attempt to scam the wilkes family but they are not clever enough as they are caught. huck takes the 6000 dollars the dauphin and duke are wanting to steal and statshs it in peter wilkes coffin. the two men are plotting to steal many of the wilkes things. the wilkes family are in terrible spirits and their days contiune to get worse. peope question about the money and when huck is come upon he makes them think the wilkes slaves are to blame. later mobsters come claiming to be part of the real wilkes and confusion is running high. the men prove to be frauds and do not aquire the 6000 dollars from the wilkes family. through time, the 6000 dollars in gold is finally discovered in the coffin. the mob is in an uproar and huck is very happy and uses this as his escape from the house. he reunites with jim and they once again take off down the river. all is well until his stomach twists as the see the dauphin and duke coming towards them in a boat. the dauphin is furious with huck for leaving him but the duke calms himself down. both men think the other hid the loot to come and retrieve it later without the other knowing. after this tiff goes on for a bit the men make up and go to sleep. all four men now set off while huck and jim conspire to ditch the two fools at their first oppertunity. upon hitting shore huck plans to escape but cant find jim. he than finds out through a helpful boy jim had been captured and sold by the dauphin himself. he than sees the duke putting up signs for the royal nonesuch theatre and they talk about jim. accidentally the duke revals jims real location but than tries and covers it up . huck does not buy into this and not knows what he must do. huck arrives at the phelps farm where jim is being held. the farm belongs to tom sawyers aunt sally. she belives that huck is her nephew tom and wonders why he is late. huck goes along with this and pretends to be tom.
